Don Allen: Where Are You Now?

We recently reached out to our brothers to see what they have been up to since their time at Penn, and they had a lot to say! Thanks to Don Allen for giving us an update and sharing your stories from the good ole days! Here is what he had to say.

Phi Phi of Alpha Chi Rho was at the top of my college experience;  brotherhood, friends for life, and the opportunity to grow.  I was the Social Chairman for one year responsible for getting the Bands, setting the theme, and making sure everyone would have a great time and they did!  I loved the position. Started my career with Hertz in New York, and got drafted into the U.S. Army three months later. During basic training they send you to a personnel interview to decide your MOS (job). One of them asked the standard questions, college, major, etc. Then the other one asked about if I belonged to a fraternity and I said Alpha Chi Rho…and the other one said “he’s a Crow”!!! I ended up in Vientiane, Laos as part of the  Military Attache, was not sure to curse them or thank them, but it turned out to be an incredible life experience, to see the war from close up on several fronts  and  to help the American Presence in South East Asia!!! My wife and I lived in Maryland for a while in the beginning of our marriage  and we were able to visit the house several times;  then we settled back in MASS, watch our son grow up and graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree, then a Master’s degree, grow his career, marry and have two beautiful daughters that my wife and I spoil, spoil, spoil that bring us so much joy in watching them in their sports and other activities..

Jack Hanson and I grew up together  in Attleboro, MA, went to Penn together, became Crows together, graduated together and then had separate paths….I know he was involved in international affairs…If you hear from him, tell him I said HELLO!  Thank You Brothers!  Health and Happiness to you all
