Dan Levin ’83: “A dozen or more of my brothers have been lifelong friends.”

Fall 2016

It was his athletic skill and love of sports that brought Dan Levin ’83 to Alpha Chi Rho. He was recruited for AXP’s intramural football team in the fall of his sophomore year, and after forging strong friendships with many of the brothers, he decided to pledge that spring.

His fondest memories are of playing football with his brothers and defeating some of the toughest opponents. His love of competition—and his work ethic—are still the same today. In fact, those characteristics have helped him to maintain a successful business, Liveware Publishing Inc.

Today, he’s proud to say he keeps in touch with many of his brothers, still participates in athletics, and is active in his community.

Geoff Hess ’91

Spring 2002

Geoff Hess '91 and Josh Getzler '90 met in high school but they didn't become friends until they became brothers. Josh recruited Geoff to join Alpha Chi Rho at Penn. Later they became partners on an effort to bring a new baseball stadium to New York City.

Josh and his father, Stanley, own and run the Staten Island Yankees in partnership with George Steinbrenner. Geoff Hess was the senior adviser to then-Mayer Rudy Giuliani and spent a lot of time working out the business details of building the stadium with Josh.
